Continuing the Photographic Chronicles with, below, a few shots from Week Thirteen.

A busy week

This week, I don’t think a single day went by without me taking photos. Between professional and personal appointments, I crisscrossed Paris in every direction. Since I always carry my camera with me, I was able to spontaneously capture the scenes that caught my eye.

The result is a vibrant mix of photos taken at Parc Monceau, around the Champs-Élysées, in the Château d’Eau neighborhood and its market, as well as near Opéra.

Cherry blossom season

I think no one could miss it — cherry trees are starting to bloom everywhere. As every year, the excitement around this event is huge. So I decided to take a closer look.

I remember that during my residency in Toronto, Canadians celebrated the blossoming of these trees with almost religious fervor — as if it were the arrival of baby Jesus! I was surprised to see that the cherry blossom craze extended far beyond Japan. And now, it seems the trend has fully taken root here too.

Just outside Paris, the Parc de Sceaux is said to be the ultimate spot to witness the most stunning cherry blossoms. So off I went to see for myself.

The result? Nada. The trees were still just budding. But I did get to experience a crowd worthy of a Saturday sale at Châtelet… and came home with the early signs of hay fever.
