Continuing the Photographic Chronicles with a few shots from Week Fourteen.

"Temps faible"

What I appreciate most in street photography is its ability to reveal everyday life in all its raw truth. Although the genre is diverse, I’m drawn to the approach that portrays reality without embellishment.

I've said it since the beginning — I’m fascinated by the ordinary, by what some call "temps faible," as opposed to the more dramatic "temps fort."

This can be disconcerting for some, as it may seem like nothing noteworthy is happening. We’ve become so accustomed to the spectacular that looking at a photograph depicting something entirely mundane can feel frustrating.

And yet, I believe it’s in these quiet, everyday moments that the truth and beauty of our lives reside — not in the extraordinary. These simple things we all encounter daily, and that I choose to photograph, give these images, I believe, a certain universality.
